The Sansoviniana library as known as National Marciana Library is one of the biggest and most important library in Italy. It is in Saint Marks square, in front of the Dogipalace.

The building was subject of criticism mainly for the positions (in saint Mark’s area, campo San Fantin) and for its Neoclassic style.
The Accademia bridge was built during the Austrian dominium (1848-1866) as well the Scalzi bridge. Until then the only bridge spanning over the grand canal was the Rialto one.
