The Archaic Whiteness

Snubbed by the critics but loved by the artists, escapes from getting to any cataloging.
The long-awaited exibithion event ever realized before in Italy, will open next March 6 at Palazzo Ducale, in the apartment of the Doge.
The project guide the visitor in a comparison of Rousseau and the great protagonists of the epoch ,exposing more than a hundred works from the most important international institutions, divided into eight thematic sections.
The search, which lasted three years, wants to give a critical cut absolutely new to the work of the "customs officer".
Among the works on display there will be some of the most famous masterpieces of French painter, as "I: portrait – landscape" considered the first portrait-landscape of art history, six works dedicated to wildlifeand the famous jungle as "snake Enchantress" and asurprising series of still lifes and portraits.
The visitor will also be able to relive the excitement of the famous banquet that Picasso organized in honor of Rousseau in the purchase of "portrait of a woman".
Among the artists featured in the exhibition, with works that interact and compete with the paintings of the artist, you can admire the intellectuals as Apollinaire and Jarry, collectors like Guillaume, old masters as a liberal from Verona and Goya to the great protagonists such as Gauguin, Morandi, Kandinsky and Picasso.
