The poetry of light
The choice of venue was dictated either for the subject and also because this city is witnessing for the first time at the real transformation or the drawings into its autonomous art form.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see over 130 stunning drawings from one of the most important collections in the world, because the extreme fragility of the works themselves, rarely have crossed the borders of the American Museum.
The exhibition runs through four centuries of Venetian art from the 16th century to the 19th century, gathering not only masterpieces by artists who were born and lived in Venice (as Bellini, Canaletto, Piazzetta and Tiepolo,) but also foreign landscapers of the Lagoon that had their highest artistic moment in Vernice, as Turner and Singer Sargent.
The tour turns back to the public the image of a Fantastic Venice, unpredictable creature exploring the endless possibilities of light that gives a thousand different faces, through preparatory drawings, quick sketches, to fix the idea, models and studies for the workshop until the finished works.
