Treasures of the Mughal and the Maharajas. The Al Thani Collection
Until January 3rd will be exposed by Doge's Palace over 270 objects, belonging to the Al Thani Collection, including gems, precious stones and ancient jewels and legendary jewellery that, alongside contemporary creations, lead us on a journey through five centuries of pure Beauty and undisputed craftsmanship, mirror of the glorious Indian tradition. They were the descendants of Genghis Khan and Tamerlane, the great maharajas who, in the twentieth century, commissioned the famous European fashion houses these jewels of unreachable beauty and extraordinary modernity that tell us more than five hundred years of history of Goldsmith's art, from the 16th to the 20th Century.
Promoted by the Fondazione Musei Civici in Venice, in the suggestive setting of Palazzo Ducale, the exhibition treasures of the Mughal and the Maharajas: The Al Thani Collection offers the opportunity to the Italian public to admire for the first time nearly three hundred pieces coming From the precious collection created by His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Abdullah Al Thani, member of the Royal family of Qatar.
