Dominating the scene of the Venice Carnival 2024 edition is Marco Polo, emblem of the Serenissima. Resourcefulness, trade, and the journey to the much coveted Orient as an expression of discovery and individual quest will be some of the elements celebrated during the Carnival.
On Sunday, Jan. 28, a water parade of traditional boats will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., in collaboration with the Coordinamento Associazioni Remiere di Voga alla Veneta. The picturesque Grand Canal will be traversed by boats with costumed rowers.
The procession will start from Punta della Dogana towards Rialto, continue under the arches of the market in Erbaria.
